Marcolina's True Obsession
Having always used digital/photographic imagery as a corner stone of his design process (as seen in this presentation blurring the line) along with shooting personal "fine art" work in many traditional formats his images have appeared in many venus worldwide . Over the last 2 years Dan has recently found a perfect bridge between his digital design side and traditional alternative photo side, iPhoneography.
This new obsession has reinvigorated his love for both photography and visual experimentation, inspiring him to Author a recently publish book (Peachpit Press) and App (iTunes) series called iPhone Obsessed. (based on the original prototype Blurb book) This iPhone Photography training duo is not only being be called the "Best iPhotography resource available" but also "The worlds first truly interactive book". The blending of artfully "app crafted" images along with the clever integration 3 new technologies, Adobes' Digital Publishing Suite, Microsoft Tag and Sliderockets' html 5 transcoding capabilities brings the book experience to a new level.

While most people have know me for print, web and video design, my original visual obsession is photography.
Shooting for more then 25 years, my photos have appeared in many juried photography shows across the country and my digital imagery in many books and magazines.
But somewhere in-between the "straight " photos and the digital collages lives these manipulated images. The new digital tools have allowed for blurring of perceptions. By taking straight subjects and moving them into an impressionistic state it converts their interpretation. A successful blurring of the line gives the piece more emotional energy and symbolism. Capturing more of a universal idea then a moment in time.
